Ah, the connotations of that set of numbers. All across America, more people are stoned today than any other day of the year.
Did you all have a nice Easter? Steph and I spent it with my adoptive family, the Campbells, as both of our respective families were out of town, and we ended up going to Village Inn and then seeing V For Vendetta again. It was great and I wouldn't have traded it for the world. Just a much needed relaxing weekend.
My sister loses her last name in 15 days as she's getting married to a really cool guy. They live in Chicago , but are getting married in Arizona.....because it's cheaper. Isn't that nuts? It's cheaper to fly six states away and have a wedding then to have it in the metroplois city you reside in. That just blows my mind a bit. It's being held at the Loews Resort out there (see pic to the right) so I guess when you can get married to the person you love in venue as amazing as that, it's worth it. I get to give her away (which is kind of weird, but necessary) and I'm flying my lady-friend to be out there by my side so it should be a really fun time. Plus I can actually drink and just stumble up a few floors to bed and not worry about driving anyone anywhere. That will be nice...
I just finished reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and it was great. It takes awhile to get going, but it's worth it at the end. Next up is a quick re-read of The DaVinci Code: The Illustrated Edition (if you haven't readthrough the illiustrated version yet, so yourself a favor and check it out) to prep for the movie hitting next month, and then I'm tacking a bestseller called Marley & Me - My Life with the World's Worst Dog. Something about nice weather just makes me want to read, I guess. I finally got Steph to read Angels & Demons: The Illustrated Edition and she loved it so I think she's jazzed to see DaVinci Code. If only there was someway we could read it together - like a pop-up book or something. Wouldn't that be awesome?
The Prenzie Players' A Midsummer Night's Dream wrapped to much success (6 consecutive standing ovations and amazing reviews) and it was nice to be able to finally climb into a comedic Shakespearean role again after almost 10 years. It's so nice to act again and with such an amazing group of talented people too. Steph and I were cast opposite each other and I was a bit nervous to see how that would play out, but I had no reason to fret at all and I think we both rose to the challenges that presented themselves.
So that's what's going on around here. I'd post more, but we're off to Trisha's bowling birthday party (and no, not that kind of 'bowling'). Take care!
UPDATE: Here are some photos from said bowling excursion.
